Welcome Days attendees hugging
SF State officially kicked off the 2015-16 academic year by welcoming more than 8,000 new students -- including the largest freshmen class in the University's history.

Construction is underway for the Mashouf Wellness Center. This $86.5 million recreational complex, named for alumnus Manny Mashouf ('66), incorporates the latest in green technology and will open in 2017.

Women's volleyball team in actionThe fall sports season is underway, and Gators fans have a lot to cheer about. Our student-athletes are competing this fall in soccer, basketball, wrestling, cross country, and volleyball.

The latest film by Mai Masri ('80), called 3000 Nights, enjoyed a successful debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
East Side Sushi a new film written and directed by Anthony Lucero (’95) opened in September.
Distillation of a Dream: The Music of Phish Reimagined for Solo Piano is the work of Holly Bowling ('09).
Jessica Romero (’11) won a 2015 Northern California Area Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement: Arts/Entertainment/Special for Destined for Canton, a special about punter Ray Guy's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
