Black Family Day at SFSU
Overview
Join us for Black Family Day, hosted by Soul of SF State, on Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Malcolm X Plaza at SFSU. This daylong event brings together alumni, students, families and community members to celebrate Black joy, resilience and excellence while uplifting Black student success. Rooted in a tradition that began in 1997, Black Family Day was created to strengthen community and support Black student success. For alumni, it’s a chance to return to campus, reconnect with fellow Gators and support the next generation. Enjoy live music, cultural performances, workshops and student showcases while exploring opportunities to mentor, network and give back. Celebrate the legacy and help shape what’s next at SFSU. If you have questions or would like more information, email Tachelle at tachelle@sfsu.edu.
